The eyes are unlike any other part of the body, and it may seem that the only way to deal with vision problems is by external means i.e. eye surgery ,visual aids and medication. Even though ,ocular health is a function of our life style and our habits, With just a little care the eyes can remain healthy.

1, Healthy Diet.

A good diet rich with antioxidents and vitamins can keep the eyes healthy and strong.

2,Protect the eyes from harmful UV Rays.

Ultra Violet exposure can cause various eye problems like cataract, blindness ,irritation,tearing etc. Wearing sunglasses and photochromic lenses protecting the eyes from UV rays and harsh sunlight.

3,  Quit Smoking and limit Alcohol.

Smoking has many dire consequences on the health of Eyes. Cataract and macular degeneration are the major consequences caused by smoking.Consumption of too much alcohol dehydrates eyes and also causes amblyopia

4, Maintain Healthy Blood sugar Level.

Keeping the blood sugar levels stable can prevent or delay the onset of diabetic eye diseases including diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma and even cataract.

5, Control Blood Pressure and Cholesterol.

High Blood pressure can lead to hypertensive retinopathy and increase the risk for diabetic retinopathy ,Great Vision Glaucoma and macular degeneration. High blood pressure in addition to high cholesterol places one at a risk for developing a stroke or a central retinal artery occlusion.

6, Do Regular Eye Check-ups.

Regular eye examinations are very important to keep ones ocular health in check. These eye examination even help in diagnosing problems regarding blood pressure and many eye diseases.If detected early enough can be treated successfully without significant vision loss.

7,Avoid Eye Strain.

Eye strain is another cause of deteriorating vision. It is best therefore to avoid all unnecessary strainand give the eyes some rest between your work.

8. Regular Exercise for Better Vision

Exercise can help you focus, lose weight and tone your muscles, but it has another benefit as well. Getting regular physical activity can also help protect your eyesight. While exercise may not directly affect your eyesight , it may affect other health issues like diabetes which can damage the blood vessels of the retina and lead to diabetic retinopathy. High blood pressure can also lead to eye disease, and regular exercise can help prevent hypertension.
